Before a lens can be tinted any previously applied anti-reflective coating must be removed, historically this has caused many lens tinting companies problems, Spectrum Coatings Ltd have now addressed this problem with a new technology developed especially to eradicate this problem. With computer-controlled accuracy, dyes are heated within +/- 1° of the desired temperature this additional 5° offers scratch-resistant, higher index 1.60 and 1.67, and polycarbonate lenses can be tinted with even colour balance at a much faster rate due to a deeper penetration of the dyes. |

The
dyes are uniformly mixed with automatic magnetic stirring bars
for accuracy and consistency, an automatic fluid level detector
begins the process and our trained operators choose the time needed
for dyeing; spinning can also be selected, this eliminates the
risk of bubbles that may occur during the dipping process ensuring
that a softer gradient tint is achieved. |
